Hair colour?

I posted a message on her yesterday about my hair being blonde and i used a semi-perm (black) i went to the hairdressers today and she gave me what you would call a bleach bath, after that my hair was a ginger/red/copper. she gave me hi lights with the bleach and coloured the left out bits from the foil with a toner, when all was washed off my hair is now a very light ginger/rust colour, its dry and a little snapped, you cant even see the hi lights. 3 colours have been on my hair and i paid 鎷?5 without cut and i look light giner and dark ginger at the back. i feel horrible, she has told me to come bk to get more hi lights when my hair is better condition, but in the mean time i feel like using another dark semi perm as im light ginger/rusty colour and not blonde. any hairdressers? advise please. would my hair be light enough to take on a tint (lift) ?

Hair colour?

Law of color chemistry "tint does not lift tint", it would create more orangish tones and the ammonia would cause damage. You really need to be using reconstructors to help rebuild some of your hair's strength. Such as, Joico Kpak for protein and a deep moisturizer (separately), Extreme by Redken is also a great reconstructor.

The stylist was a bit inexperienced in color removal. L'Oreal makes Effasol which is a good tint remover. Being as she has already applied bleach though; you'll probably have to get more highlights, and this will be a long term project.

Too many stylists want to slap bleach on tinted hair. Frankly that creates excessive damage and could've been avoided.

I do suggest looking for another colorist. Before having work done; make an appointment 'just' for a consultation. That way if you're not comfortable with the stylist you're not obligated to allow the service.

Good Luck

Hair colour?

i gave you my professional advice yesterday and you didn't listen, can i say I TOLD YOU SO?!

Hair colour?

WHO CARES

Hair colour?

u should stop dying ur hair all crazy and pick a color like blond since your skin is light or medium brown.. golden honey blond is nice a lot of stars have that color

Hair colour?

Please don't put anymore colour on it and don't go near it with straighteners or tongs.

I went from blonde to dark brown last year, cried for 2 days and then begged my friend ( a hairdresser) to get me back blonde. She tested a piece of my hair before colouring it and then put on the amount of colour it could stand, and I kept going back for highlights every few weeks.

Don't put anymore colour on it now especially if it is already snapping.

Good luck, you will be able to get it back, but it takes time, if you rush it you will end up with no hair

Hair colour?

Guess your hairdresser dosent know what they were doing. sorry

Hair colour?

You should let it grow out and go back to your natural color. Take a look at this article about hair dye health risks: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/193449...

Hair colour?

AK snap snap sure at least uve gat ur health. Unlike ur bap ; ) lol ojojoj Dye it id say, then look after it nice. Ok?

Hair colour?

im a hairdressing assessor. she sudnt had put bleach no it wen it was already blonde underneath. depending on ow bad the condition is it might not even take a drker colour! i wud go 2 a good salon and ask them 2 colour match first before puttin your target shade on. colour matching is just putting your natural pigment bk in so the target shade will sit on top wivout wash off.

Can I apply hair spa solutions on my hair after a cellphone treatment??cellophane treatment versus h

I'm planning to have a cellophane treatment for my hair %26lt;due to curly ends and some hair protection%26gt; but I'm currently having problems with falling hair. It's not due to breakage of hair strands. Strands of hair tend to fall from the roots..Can cellphane treatments trigger a more severe hair loss?? Is it okay for me to undergo such hair treatment? All answers are fully appreaciated!

If it's okay to have the treatment, can i still use hair spa solutions like every other month or so? My cousin and I plans to hair spa each others hair for X-mas bonding sessions(",). What will be the possible effects if i do so??

Thanks!

Hair dye help!?

Okay, so I have died my hair a few times in the last year. Well i found a color that i really like and want to stick with for awhile. The color is black. Well, my hair seems not to be holding the color. This is the second time i have dyed it this color. And the last time it started coming out and my hair started looking streeked and blotchy. This time i used a different brand and again it is not holding. My hair has no problems holding any other color, so why won't it hold black. My hair is naturally a medium ash brown. So i am wondering if I go get it done professionally instead of doing it myself, will i have better luck? I just don't want to go waste my money to have the same results i would if i did it myself. So what do you recommend I do? ... oh yeah, and i used a real gentle shampoo for babies thinking that would help, after i bought shampoo for dyed hair, and still the same thing keeps happening.

Hair dye help!?

STOP USING BABY SHAMPOO!!! It strips your hair. The reason it is gentle for babies is b/c it is Ph balanced to match tears, so there is no stinging. Unfortunitly, tears have the same Ph as rubbing alcohol. Its the absolute worst thing you could use on your color.

Now, the darker the hair color the larger the color molecule and this may also factor into the problem. Use professional color (Sally's Beauty Supply). Do not pull permanet through the ends. Only touch up the roots w/ it. Use temporary color on the previously colored hair shaft. You can also use the temp. between colors to refresh it. See if you can find a shampoo %26amp; conditioner for black hair. It will deposit a little color as to keep it from fading.

Good luck.

Hair dye help!?

you should probably just go to the salon. i normally don't but if you having that hard of a time keeping the color in maybe you have a professional take a shot at it.

hope this helps! =]

Hair dye help!?

I think you should have it professionaly dyed.

Hair dye help!?

First of all, you really should be buying salon quality products...these will help hold your color longer than any store bought brand...

I would personally have a stylist color your hair...they can recommend products you can use or one's that you should stay away from...most hairsprays that contain alcohol will strip your color soooo much faster than the better quality ones..

I use Pureology...does NOT strip your color...very expensive, but worth it if your color is important to you...

Hair dye help!?

dying hair is different for all people.

i have dyed my hair about five times in the past couple of months.

i found using a permanent color instead of temporary works better for most people.

some times if your hair is longer you might need to use one bottle and a half of another to get everything covered.

just after you put the color in your hair.remember to wait at least 1 hour so it can all sit in.and then wash it out.and dont use shampoo or conditioner in you hair that day or next day after you put the dye in.

Hair dye help!?

Mine is naturally dark dark brown n i die it black

i use nice n easy its really cheap. make sure you mix the stuff all the way!! they give u a conditioner to help it stay in use that 4 like 2 minutes n then wash it out.

Make sure u wash the hair dye out compley in the shwer!

if that doesnt work i guess try a salon. u could always ask the people that work at the salon too .

=)

Hair dye help!?

Your hair should take the black color. What brand is it? Is it permenant or semi permeanant? You may not be putting it all on evenly and you may need two boxes. Try washing your hair first and towel drying it then squirt all the color on and comb through your hair from root to end. You can even massage through like shampoo. Leave it on the full time or even a little longer. You want to use a shampoo for color treated hair to help keep the color bright. I would try this again before you go to the salon. It should work though. You could also do a deep conditioner before you do the color so that it takes evenly as well. Hope this helps.

Hair bun style is it hard to do?

Ballet hair bun-

how long does ur hair has to be to be able to do a bun in the hair? is it hard or easy for a first timer to do it?( do a bun hair style)

any advice? My current hair lenght is medium short. How do i get my hair to grow faster so that i can be able to make a bun in my hair? any ideas or advice? can u give me the instructions on how to make a bun in the hair. or a website that has step -step instructions? thankz

Hair bun style is it hard to do?

I suggest buying a product called a style whirl. It is a black rubber thing that you slide your hair into, roll up and then snap together to make a bun. It's much easier than any other way, especially when you have short hair.

Hair bun style is it hard to do?

u can put your hair in a bun with the hair that u have just twist it then wrap it around and use bobby oins to keep it in

Hair bun style is it hard to do?

It's not hard, if your hair is long enough. Pull your hair back, or up, and get it in a ponytail in the area where you want the bun. Twist the pony tail, and it will end up wrapping the hair in a circle. Tuck the ends under the bun, and put bobby pins underneath to hold it in place.

If you want to do a french bun, or roll, pull into a low ponytail at the base of your head, then roll in an upward direction. You can slip the bobby pins in along the side with the "seam", and tuck then ends of the hair down into the top of the roll.

It just takes a little practice!

Hair bun style is it hard to do?

To hold your hair in a bun use hair pins not bobby pins. Put your hair in a ponytail then twist the ponytail and start to wrap it around the middle of the ponytail and if you want it to be flatter, then press down as you are wrapping. After you have the last section wrapped, put the hair pins in until you feel that it is secure.

Hair bun style is it hard to do?

SORRY BUT I THINK THE REASON WHY NO ONE IS ANSWERING YOUR ? IS BECAUSE THE BUN STYLE IS OUT!!!!AND HAS BEEN OUT!!! FOR QUITE SOME TIME NOW!!! TRY ANOTHER STYLE THE BUN IS ONLY GOING TO MAKE YOU LOOK OLD!!!

Hair straightening worries?

my mom just made an appointment and is going to spend whatever the amount is to get my hair japanese straightened. i hate my cirly hair but learned to apreciate it more in the past few months. i really want it straight because almsot everyone says it looks best really straight. i never really liked versatility but liked it as an option. my hair has been colored before. i just dont know if i should go through with it bbecause everyone is saying that i should like my curly hair. i really dont know what to do. i thought i looked ugly with curly hair. if a put on makeup yea. but with straight hair and no makeup i thought i looked awesome. im just kinda worried. i just need someone to help me out. like give me tips or tell me what to do. please help. anyone can answer this and i will give all answers a thumbs up rating. i just need some guidance.

Hair straightening worries?

Trying a new style once is a while should be fun. The japanese straightening only last about 6 months and after that you could be back to your own hairstyle. There's nothing wrong with trying a new hair style. Go ahead and give it a try, plus it's not permanent for life. I have naturally straight hair most of the time, but when i go somewhere fancy like to wedding or church i would curl it, i guess whatever we don't have then we like to try it out. So don't be scare or anything because girls should always have high self-esteem and especially about your appearance. Either way you would still have your natural hair back at the end.

Hair straightening worries?

Well, i have really curly hair too, so instead of getting rid of it just by th e chi straightener, it rocks.

Hair straightening worries?

Personally, I think you should just keep it curly and straighten it when you want to. My friend's mom got hers straightened with the Japenese thing exactly a year ago...and it is still straight. She can't even use a curling iron when she wants to...it's always stick straight. Personally, I think it looks too unnatural because her hair is so naturally curly. Also, as your hair grows out, the roots are curly...and you have to use a lot of time to get them to match the straightness of the length of your hair.

Hair straightening worries?

Making the best of your natural curls rather than altering the nature of your hair sounds like the best way to go. But, if you do go straight, you could always use a curling iron if you wanted to go curly again, yeah? But curly is kinda in now, I think.

Hair straightening worries?

i think you should just go with whatever you feel would look best, yes straightening yuor hair would look pretty, and different from your normal curly hair, but cury hair can also be pretty too, if you think you should straighten it, do it. Its not up to your friends to decide for you(or yahoo answers)

Hair straightening worries?

ok if u have curly hair and ur getting more and more comfortable with it each day i suggest u keep it that way. i mean u could do some really nice hairdo's with ur curls. also japanese hair straighten causes alot of damage especially if u've died ur hair before.

also, once u straighten ur hair it's kinda hard to have different hairstyles because its hard to curl it.(happend to me) u would end up doin ur hair eithe down or in a ponytail. no new way to experiment. lol

just keep ur curls so u dont damage ur hair and u can always buy a hair straightener so u can straighten ur hair every once in a while if u really want to. dont make permanent changes unless u are 100% sure u will be happy with it.

u can always scrunch ur curly hair or put holdin cream and u get some beautiful hairdo's.

all in all u should be happy with ur curly hair. im sure it looks just fine

oh and also japanese hair straightening doesnt always work too well and causes to much damage

Hair straightening worries?

I think you should just keep your hair curly and use the salon money to buy a really good hair straightener. Btw, if u r planning on using the straightener everyday get a ceramic one so it wont damage your hair as much. Hope this helps.

Hair Breakage!?

I have gotten my hair straightened because it was natural curly and I hated it but now i look back and I don't know why i decided to do that...cuz the people who did it ruined my hair pretty bad. On top of that...I straighten my hair with a flat iron and blow it dry all the time...I've now stopped cuz my hair is so ruined and broken off so I'm going to just continue wearing it up cuz I'm not sure what to do anymore about it....i use good hair products on my hair to help it after i wash it but it just doesn't seem like it's helping to much anymore....do u have any advice...I'm 20 years old and my mom has Rogaine...is it ok if i use it to regrow my hair back or is it going to make my hair fall out even more...plz help

Hair Breakage!?

Don't use the ROGAINE it is for hair loss. You will damage your scalp and have some serious problems.

Check out this website: http://www.motionshair.com

they have where you can put in your problem and they give you a regiment to fix your hair.

Simple Solutions to Common Problems

閳?Hair Breakage

We receive frequent questions about breaking hair and related problems. Here is a recipe that will stop breakage, slow the formation of split ends and thicken broken, frayed hair. It asks that you not shampoo your hair for thirty two days:

Rinse hair until the water runs clear.

Apply a generous amount of Motions CPR conditioner.

Massage into hair as you would a shampoo.

Let it sit for about fifteen minutes.

Rinse with room-temperature water.

Apply Motions Foaming Wrap Lotion.

Apply Motions Oil Sheen.

Dry and style your hair.

Apply Motions hairdressing every morning. [You will notice a difference immediately. You hair will feel thicker and softer. Repeat this procedure every four days, for one full month.]

The tenth treatment starts with the same warm water rinse, then lather with CPR shampoo.

Rinse lightly.

Apply a generous amount of Motions CPR conditioner.

Rinse with room-temperature water after three minutes.

Apply Motions Foaming Wrap Lotion.

Apply Motions Salon Sheen.

Dry and style your hair.

Continue the shampoo %26amp; conditioner treatment weekly until your hair is long and thick as desired.

If your house is dry, keep a pot of simmering water out.

Normal pillowcases will absorb oil from your hair, so buy a few satin pillowcases.

Massage your scalp nightly to promote oil secretion.

Hair Breakage!?

Stop using it first. Then dont do stuff to harm ur hair. eat more viramins and protein and it'll grow back in no time.

Hair Breakage!?

Don't know if Rogaine will help you, but one thing you can do is get the ends trimmed and then go to your local drug store and buy some Frizz-Ease Rebuild Restructuring Micro-Oil Therapy. I had a hair colouring disaster that included bleaching my hair and then three dye jobs which really messed up my hair, and this stuff worked a treat, I still had to deal with split ends but not nearly as quickly.

They come in little bottles, I would start with one bottle every 2 washes for the first week. The other Frizz-Ease product which has been a miracle to me is their Extra Strength Hair Serum: Transform (in a little purple bottle). I run a little bit of this through my hair before I blow dry it, then I straighten with the hair tongs --I can wear my hair down and it stays straight all day, even when it's foggy.

You might also want to try a straightening conditioner like Sunsilk Sleek %26amp; Straight for frizzy hair, in a purple bottle.

Hair Breakage!?

The damage from the straightener is why professionally I don't care for that service. The straightened hair will eventually all need to come off. That is going to take some time. Only shampoo several times a week. When you go to style use leave in cond and heat protectors. Try Redken Extreme pak with both protein and moisture. Rogaine is not the answer. Have hair trimmed regularly and no more chemicals. Best of luck.

Hair Breakage!?

Condition!!!Condition!!!Condition!!!!Dee... Condition !!!! this will almost solve that problem.

Hair Breakage!?

Hair straightening is particularly damaging to the hair. I try to not use it on my clients. Instead, I opt to use smoothing shampoos and conditioners.

If your hair growth is really at issue, Propecia, Rogaine, and DHT blockers can help. But, the problem with all of these products is they are expensive, have temporary results that stop after use of the product, lastly, they have side effects. Thus, the best way to grow your hair fast is to take care of your hair from the inside out. Assess whether you live an unhealthy lifestyle or use traditional drugstore hair products that contain alcohol and sulfates. If you do, you can potentially be stunting your hair growth. I am a stylist, and if you follow the tips below, you can grow your hair. These tips have worked on several of my clients.

Tip #1: Change your diet.

Increase your intake of proteins. Eat fish, eggs, beans, yogurt, and cheese.

Tip # 2: Drink plenty of water

6-8 glasses is a must. 8-12 is even better.

Tip #3: Get your vitamins

Take a B Complex, Fish Oil, Vitamin C, and Vitamin E.

Tip #4: Only use an all-natural hair growth or hair thickening shampoos and conditioners

There are several good natural shampoos on the market, such as Aubrey Organics and Giovanni. However, I have used A Double Portion Super Hair Growth Shampoo on my hair loss clients because it is created specifically for hair growth and I have seen substantial results in a matter of month. It is full of hair growth promoting essential oils, sage, cayenne, neem, jojoba, and aloe. For my clients that used it, their hair got thicker, longer, and softer. You can find it online at Beauty 4 Ashes Christian Co.'s website. It is great shampoo just for making your hair more manageable and smooth as well.

Tip #5: Place as little heat and chemicals on your hair as possible. No hair coloring please.

Tip #6: Live a stress free life.

Tip #7: Get your blood flowing

Aerobic exercise stimulates blood circulation throughout the entire body, including the scalp. This is important for hair growth. Also, consider massaging your scalp for 5-10 minutes a day with warm olive or coconut oil. It will accentuate your hair growth as well.

Hair Breakage!?

you were prob using the wrong kind of straightener.

Hair Breakage!?

Hi. First off I would like to say that there is no quick fix for your hair. I am not going to lie to you and say to do one thing. But what I will tell you will benefit you and your hair will take time to grow back since its in shock. First things first, dont straighten your hair anymore with the flat iron and blow dry it. Stay away from any heat right now. The only heat you should be getting is a deep conditioning once a week. That is what I recommend. When I was transitioning, this is what I did. When your hair starts getting healthier, then only do it once a month. As far as the straightened hair goes, it's permanently damaged and nothing can get it back to the way it was, unless you do a big chop and cut all the dead hair off.

Since you are transitioning back to naturally curly, you can keep wearing it up or wear braids or a transitioning style. Here are some websites that are good for going back curly:

www.motowngirl.com - natural hair care site

www.growafrohairlong.com - natural hair and braid regimen site

www.urbanbella.net/shop/curlywash101.h...

www.naturallycurly.com

These websites have good info for curly, wavy, coily, and kinky hair types. And they are good for any person of race or color, no discrimination.

There are also websites that you can look at for good products for your hair:

www.curls.biz (I love them and personally use them)

www.curlicious.com

www.jessicurl.com

www.missjessies.com

www.honeyfig.com

www.naturallycurly.com

There are more, but I cant think of any. Do your research and see if you want to try a product. It doesnt hurt to try. I wouldnt recommend using Rogaine for the simple fact that to me, its foreign medicine that my body doesnt know. Take multivitamins and hair vitamins, such as biotin. You can also use GNC hair, skin, and nails, but dont take the high dosage tablets. Your body could only take so much vitamins and will flush out the rest. Eat fruits and vegetables, exercise, drink lots of water, and stick to a more healthier diet that you can see yourself doing.

Last thing..dont think about your hair and whats wrong with it. It can grow again and can be fixed. There are two websites you should look at: www.motowngirl.com and www.growafrohairlong.com. They are geared toward african american women, but I am mixed and I have used some of the techniques on those websites in washing, combing, brushing, and styling of curly hair. I hope this helps you. God bless.

Hair Breakage!?

Ok i have curly hair and i got it chemically straightened before.. it is super damaging.. this is what you do...Deep condition it every week.... get a trim every 6 weeks if you want nice hair, you need to cut off the bad ends... And there are some vitamins that i highly reccommend along with their treatment shampoos and conditioners.. Do not use rogaine it will not help... i use those vitamins already for just a week and i already see results...

Hair Breakage!?

Don't pull hair up while wet it will cause more breakage. If you have to pull it back try braiding it. Deep condition once a week. Try Damage Remedy by Aveda- I've seen it work miracles on my clients hair who have pushed it beyond the legal limits. Use a heat protector for styling. Heat Defender by Bed Head is a good one for Flat Ironing as well as Fashionista Spritz and Shine. Good luck. If you have more questions specifically let me know!

Hair Breakage!?

Same thing happened to my daughter all you can do is use a good shampoo and conditioner and don't put anything else in it, keep wearing your hair up. When your curls come back try a straightener and use a thermal spray on it before straightening, this will stop your hair from burning. Sorry wish I had something better to tell you.

Hair Breakage!?

I am not sure if Rogaine helps, but you should first trim your hair to eliminate the breaking part. Then try to use minimum heat on your hair. If you want your hair to grow out reconstruct your hair to make it healthy, check out the 'Beauty for Ashes' website. It has Godhead and Double Proportion products will all natural products. Get some of thier products and that should give your hair immense help. Hope i helped

Hair Dilemma? Bleached Hair Won't Take Dye?

Well a friend of the family who is around 50, has most of his hair grey colored and I dye my hair quite a fair bit, I'm a hair junkie haha so I have bleach, where you mix the creme with powder, the strenght is 40, and his hair is thin and short.

So he wanted my sister to do his hair whilst I was away and instead of testing it, went straight ahead and bleached his whole head for 30 mins.

His hair then apparently turned blonde and they attempted to dye it a dark brown [after washing bleach out etc]. When the brown was washed out the color didn't stay in, all the brown just washed out.

The dye we used is the type you can get from supermarkets for a reasonable price.

Why didn't it work?

How can we fix this and make his hair a better color?

[he's not too happy :P]

THANKSx

Hair Dilemma? Bleached Hair Won't Take Dye?

you shouldnt bleach grey hair...just buy the dye that is for grey hair....i would take him to a pro now...supermarket dye wont do it

Hair Dilemma? Bleached Hair Won't Take Dye?

nice pixie cut

Hair Dilemma? Bleached Hair Won't Take Dye?

You Will Need To Deep Condition The Hair With A Protien Treatment To "Fill" The Over-Porous Hair. It May Take Two Or Three Treatments. In The Meantime, Use A "Semi-Permanent" Color To Cover The Blonde And Prevent Further Damage Untill The Hair Is Ready For Permanent Color.

Hair Dilemma? Bleached Hair Won't Take Dye?

OMG...Salon Salon Salon....wow 30 min with 40peroxide..shes lucky she didn't burn his scalp...my advice is to send him to a professional and good luck...they are going to have to fill his hair before they can color it just to get it to a "normal" color...this can get quite expensive to fix..hope this helps

Hair Dilemma? Bleached Hair Won't Take Dye?

once you bleach hair, it's completely damaged and fried hair won't hold color. lmao I know from experience. I tried to get burgundy(at salon mind you) and my hair turned pink
